A lot of you have mentioned that transmute generates false damage numbers, I am unsure as to what this actually means, can someone please explain this? Thank you.

Hey Tris,
I'm not 100% sure how it works but the way it was explained to me is that transmute is used to blow-up items like the bombs in Outer or the crystals in FoS so it gives numbers for that "damage" but it doesn't do any actual damage to any of the mobs or bosses.

Transmute works by doing an large amount of damage to objects (like say 1000 per object). This damage counts in the damage numbers for the player.

so that dmg is not doing dmg to the NPCs? only the objects? if it only destorys the objects, what really is the point of the power other than the feat in FoS1?

The objects do damage to the NPCs. Here is how it works...
You activate transmute. There are three destroyable objects and two AI's in the power's area.
The power does 1000 damage to each object. Each object explodes for 100 damage. The two AI's therefore take a total of 300 damage each.
You have therefore done 600 damage to the actual enemies and 3000 damage to the objects. You get credited for 3600 damage even though only 600 actually did anything.
All numbers have been pulled out of my ass for illustrative purposes.

does might or anything else affect how much dmg is put out with the transmute to the NPCs?

Yes. I also think there is a base damage level to NPCs even if there is nothing to blow up. I do not know if might scales the damage accredited to blowing up objects but I wouldn't be shocked if that was true. It would be indicative of the sloppy, poorly thought out programming that is unfortunately a hallmark of this game's initial implementation.

In my experience, it's really just the general bad behavior that is rampant in that particular league. Besides, i guess he expected to get the same falsely inflated numbers the other sorc was getting but with his obvious fresh 30ness he just didn't have the gear or the might to get it done and I think that is what pissed him off so he ended up acting like a child.
Don't forget, this is the guy who was trying to call out Pop Blue for his damage while trying to heal the raid in all blue gear. Truth was that for an outer raid Pop was doing just fine with his damage. The raid went fine and there was nothing to complain about.

It may just be me and my low tolerance for douche-baggery but when I've been in PUG's lately there seems to be an influx of toolbags to deal with, it's very annoying.
