The point of this thread is to help noobs like me get used to this game and be the best they can be. I've played City of Heroes for the last 4+ Years and in almost every Super Group (League) we had a thread with builds to help other people.
If you could, Post whats best for the toon you play or whatever. Im currently looking for help with my Mental/Dual Pistols if anyone wants to start out.
Thanks

5YL is the resident controller master. Be sure to ask him when you see him on.

go here... dcuosource.com/skillplanner/and make your build. Then you can cut and paste a code that others throw into the build calculator to replicate that build.

Ahh that's a different matter then. I've never DPS'd with mental powers. As for pistols though, the center column of combos is pretty much all I ever need. Full auto is a stupid, boring, mind numbing ability but DCUO has decided to make it really effective (though not as effective as Mental as compared to Gadgets). The only other combo I really use with pistols is the Jump shot/Slip shot bounce with magnum shot finishers in between. The idea is that between jump and slip shot, you stay in one general spot. Though if you jump at the right time before the slip shot, you can stay in one spot without following up with jump shot. Actually, you can even make slip shot move forward. Everything else is pretty situational, and probably isn't optimal for dps. Unless you pvp you probably don't even need lunge, because really why would anyone want to go into melee range with pistols? The lift strike and loft shot pair is kind of fun just for the animation and the variation, but pretty useless if you want the best damage possible. Sweep shot, after the exploit fix, doesn't do anything Full Auto doesn't do way better... it does have a stun component, but no one really cares about that either.
